Witness

To be a witness is simply to tell others what we’ve seen, heard, and know to be true, through our words and our way of life.

In the Gospel of Matthew, Jesus tells us to “Love your neighbour as yourself” and as followers of Jesus, our motivation to be a witness is love.

We believe we can share this life-changing love with others everyday.

Witness is not about pressure, performance, or having all the answers. It begins with living closely with Jesus and being attentive to those around us who don't yet know Him. As we pray, spend time with others and open our lives, we make space for genuine and honest conversations about faith.

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."

Acts 1:8

Get started

  • Pray each week for someone who doesn't yet know Jesus

There is power in consistent, ongoing prayer. Ask God to bring someone to mind, and commit to pray for them each week by name. As you do, pay attention to opportunities to spend time and share the love of Jesus with them.

  • Pray daily for someone who doesn't know Jesus and regularly speak about Jesus in your everyday life.

As you pray each day, look for natural opportunities to speak about Jesus - sharing your story, offering to pray for someone, or talking about what God is doing in your life.

Kids and families

Family discipleship isn’t about perfection, but presence.

Kids and families are shaped most by the rhythms, habits, and conversations of everyday life. Formation often happens through repetition, warmth, and consistency more than intensity.

For each communal rhythm, you’ll find:

1. Conversations to have with your kids

2. Practical ways to live it out at home

Conversations to have with your kids about Witness….

-What does it mean to represent Jesus?

-How can people see Jesus through the way we live?

-Why is kindness important?

-How can we share our faith naturally?

-What are ways we can love people who believe differently?

-What does courage look like in following Jesus?

-Why do people need hope?

-How can our words and actions match?

Help children understand that witness is not only about sharing our faith with words. It is becoming the kind of people who reflect Jesus in everyday life.

Practical ways to live this out at home…

-Talk openly about your own faith journey.

-Share stories of God’s faithfulness.

-Encourage children to invite friends into your home.

-Practise noticing opportunities to encourage others.

-Write cards to neighbours, teachers, or friends.

-Pray for specific people who do not know Jesus.

-Discuss current events through the lens of compassion and truth.

-Teach children how to share their testimony simply.

-Model humility, repentance, and forgiveness publicly.

-Let children see you serving others without recognition.

Children learn witness when they see faith integrated into ordinary life.
