Scripture
We’re surrounded by narratives that compete for our affections, but as followers of Jesus, we believe that God’s unfolding story is the only one that leads to true life.
Through the daily practice of reading Scripture, we seek to encounter Jesus in the text. Our prayer is that as we anchor ourselves in His Word we learn to live out the story of God in Cornwall.
Reading and meditating on Scripture shapes us, helping us recognise God's voice in the text and live out the story of Jesus in our daily lives.
Get started
We invite the whole church to join us in BREAD.
BREAD is a simple way to read and reflect on a passage of Scripture each day as a wider community.
A good way to get started is to get a copy of the journal (either physical copy or download a free PDF) and build the habit of reading the New Testament passage each day, following the steps.

Kids and families
Family discipleship isn’t about perfection, but presence.
Kids and families are shaped most by the rhythms, habits, and conversations of everyday life. Formation often happens through repetition, warmth, and consistency more than intensity.
For each communal rhythm, you’ll find:
1. Conversations to have with your kids
2. Practical ways to live it out at home
Conversations to have with your kids about Scripture….
-Why do you think God gave us Scripture?
-What does it mean that the Bible is alive and active?
-How can we listen for God when we read the Bible?
-What stories or people in Scripture do you relate to most?
-What do we learn about God’s character from this passage?
-What does obedience look like after reading this?
-What is the difference between knowing Bible stories and knowing God?
-How can Scripture shape the way we treat people?
Practical ways to live this out at home…
- Read a short passage together at breakfast or bedtime.
-Use simple questions:
What stands out?
What does this teach us about God?
What should we do with this?
-Create a family rhythm of reading through one Gospel slowly.
-Keep Bibles visible and accessible in shared spaces.
-Memorise one verse together each month.
-Let older children read aloud.
-Encourage children to journal prayers or reflections after reading.
-Share stories of how Scripture has guided you personally.
-Play worship music or Scripture audio in the home and in the car.
-Normalise reading the bible and asking hard questions about the Bible.
